Edith Maria Buchholz, born in Malbork (Marienburg) and raised in Cologne, studied architecture and urban planning at the RWTH Technical University of Aachen and the Politecnico di Milano until 2004. Meanwhile, she worked in various planning offices in Aachen, Milan and Athens before she founded in 2005 together with her partner the joint practice alias architectsin Greece and Germany. 2011 sees the founding of the architectural company alias architects and associates headquartered in Athens. As Head of Architectural Design, Edith is responsible for national and international projects. She is a member of the TEE and speaks five languages.

Aris Pantelis Liakopoulos, born in Cologne and raised in Athens, studied architecture at the RWTH Technical University of Aachen and the University of Portsmouth. He worked for many years in planning offices in Germany and Greece and especially in the office of Prof. Marcin Orawiec, before joining together with his partner in 2005 the joint practice alias architects. 2011 sees the founding of the architectural company alias architects and associates headquartered in Athens. As Head of Planning and Management, Aris is responsible for national and international projects. He is a member of the BDB, AKNW and TEE.
