The concept for the new four-storey residential quarter with gabled roof around a large, inner-city district park creates a link between the bustling city centre and the Ostrow district in Cottbus, Germany.
The architectural concept of the new perimeter block development shows 3 construction segments, north, east and south, with continuous, two-sided apartments and staircases with direct access to the park and city side. The south and east parts contain mainly 80-100m2 apartments with a continuous living-dining area, 2 bedrooms and bathroom with bath or shower and balcony or terrace facing the park. The north bar is planned as an apartment house with apartments of about 50m2 and designed for senior housing in the city.
An orthogonal building structure, practical, functional floor plans, modular components and façade segments with a simple axis dimension as well as photovoltaics on the sunny gable roof fields support cost-effectiveness and sustainability for the overall concept.
